There are dining choices to please most tastes and budgets in Grand Haven. Elegance of the Seasons is open for lunch and changes their menu each day. Their display case is filled with cookies and other baked delights. They usually offer a salad, soup, cold sandwich and a grilled sandwich, and sometimes quiche. Choices might include a spinach and goat cheese quiche, sweet potato bisque, spaghetti squash salad with goat cheese, lettuce and sunflower seeds, or a cranberry chicken salad sandwich.
For tasty pizza that won’t break the bank, the locals head to Fricano’s. Fricano’s has been selling pizza in Grand Haven for more than 50 years from the big gray house on the city’s east side. The decor is no frills and the menu is simple, but the delicious ingredients and economical price have the joint packed every weekend.
For a quick bite, duck into Butch’s Beach Burritos, across from the boardwalk, which offers American style versions of Mexican favorites. Like sandwiches? Then head to Anthony’s Kicked Up Catering for phenomenal sandwiches.
At the popular Kirby House you’ll have your choice of a popular bar and three restaurants – the upscale Grill Room, where you’ll enjoy excellent steaks, the laid back Kirby’s Grill, which offers a variety of dishes like juicy bacon and cheddar burgers or miso grilled salmon, and the family favorite K2, where fresh, wood-fired pizzas are the mainstay on the menu. Kirby House also has a popular bar with music and dancing.
Porto Bello serves Italian dishes and gourmet pizza, with a bar and live music on some nights (check their website for details).
If you’d like to enjoy views of the water try Bil Mar, right on the beach or Snug Harbor, located along the Grand River.
